Death
Obituary: INDIAN BAYOU - Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007, in the Indian Bayou Methodist Church in Indian Bayou, La. for Walden Elias Hoffpauir, 76, who passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007. The Rev. Byron Aucoin, pastor of Indian Bayou Methodist Church, will officiate the services. Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Evelyn Choate Hoffpauir, of Lafayette; one daughter, Tammy Lea Kessinger and her husband, Charles Kessinger, of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Kayla and Kacy Kessinger; one brother, Gene Hoffpauir; and two nephews, William D. Hoffpauir and Dr. Edward Lyons, all of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Hoffpauir, and his mother, Fedora Landry Hoffpauir. A native of Crowley, La. and resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Hoffpauir was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Mr. Hoffpauir was retired from the US Post Office with 17 years of service. He was a local musician and was inducted into the Louisiana Cajun Hall of Fame. Mr. Hoffpauir enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday from 2 p.m. until time of services at the Indian Bayou Methodist Church in Indian Bayou, La.
