Obituary: ANDREW BROOKS DUCOTE died Sunday morning, August 12, 2012, in Baton Rouge after battling various health issues for the past 10 years. He was 43 and a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a 1986 graduate of Runnels High School and attended LSU and Southeastern Louisiana University. Drew was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard where he served performing drug and illegal immigrant interdiction duties. He is survived by his daughter, Makenzie Lorraine Ducote; by his brother, Chip Ducote, and by his parents, Jackie and Glenn Ducote of Baton Rouge-all of whom he loved very much. A disabled veteran, Drew enjoyed fishing, painting, writing and listening to music, as well as good times with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward Hoffpauir and Margie Andrus, and his paternal grandparents, Ewell L. Ducote and Elaine Gautreaux. At his request, no funeral service will be held; his body will be cremated and committed at sea by the U.S.Coast Guard.
