The man whose body was found early Monday in Vernon Parish has been identified by authorities as Christopher Sean Hoffpauir, 22, of Leesville. Sheriff's officials said Hoffpauir died from a gunshot wound. They aren't releasing more about what may have happened as they are in the midst of their investigation. Hoffpauir's body was found around 7 a.m. Monday lying on Garwood Busby Road - also known as Parish Road 638 - just south of La. Highway 28. The body was sent to Shreveport for an autopsy, officials said. (from the Town Talk online)
The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a woman and a man in connection with the shooting death of Christopher Sean Hoffpauir, whose body was found Monday morning in eastern Vernon Parish. The woman is the victim's estranged wife. Authorities charged the victim's estranged wife, Kristyn P. Hoffpauir, 20, and Justin Sizemore, 23, both of Lecompte, with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, officials reported.
Sizemore and Kristyn Hoffpauir were reportedly involved romantically at the time of her estranged husband's death, authorities said. The body of Christopher Hoffpauir, 22, of Leesville was found on Garwood Busby Road, also known as Parish Road 638. (from the Town Talk online)

Obituary: Christopher Sean Hoffpauir, 21, passed from this life on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Leesville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18 2010, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Leesville with the Rev. Jerry Penfield officiating. Burial will be at Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville, a dignity memorial provider. Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Survivors are his mother and father, Donna Hatfield Hoffpauir and Kent Allen Hoffpauir; one sister, Kendra Hoffpauir all of Leesville; one brother, Wayne Ryder and wife Erin of Lusby, Maryland; one daughter, Madelynn Hoffpauir of Leesville; parental grandparents, Ellis and Wanda Hoffpauir of Leesville; nephews, Khrystian Hoffpauir, Elija McClintock; Aidyn Hoffpauir, Tyler Ryder and Landon Ryder. Christopher was born in DeRidder and graduated from Leesville High School in 2007. He served in the United States Air Force Reserve, and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville.
