Charles Alvin Whelply, 73, of Nederland, Texas, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at his residence. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 11, 1930, and had lived in Nederland for the past 43 years. Hew as a retired operator with Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur, and a member of Triumph Church in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be held May 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Triumph Church in Nederland with Reverend Randy Clark and Reverend Charles Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Mr. Whelply is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Whelply of Graham, Washington; Janet Hoffpauir of Nederland, Cathy Nagel of Beaumont; two sons, Kirk Ellender of Bridge City, and Johnny Whelply of Port Arthur; one brother, Robert Whelply of Port Arthur; six grandchildren, Brandon Hoffpauir, Lori Smith, Chris Nagel, Manessah, Jadon and Micah Ellender; and three great grandchildren, Katlyn, Ashlyn, and Brienne Smith. 5601 39th Street Groves, Texas 77619 (409)962-4455 (Enterprise, 10 May 2004)
