New Braunfels, Texas -- Marcella F. Hoffpauir, 90, passed away after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. She died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 28, 2005. Mrs. Hoffpauir was born in Morgans Point, Texas, and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. Mrs. Hoffpauir was a resident of New Braunfels. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and the University of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette. She is survived by two daughters, Marcia Tolman and her husband, Cyrus, of New Braunfels and Katherine Hoffpauir of Kingwood, Texas; five grandchildren, Scott Brown and his wife, Sheryl, and Chris "Jones" Brown and his wife, Erica, all of Bloomington, Minn., Lori Garza and her husband, Hector, of New Braunfels, Matt Hoffpauir of Spring, Texas, and Melissa Walkowiak and her husband, Sidney, of Anderson, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Woytek of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and the Moss Bluff United Methodist Church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa I. Hoffpauir, and son, Asa "Buddy" Hoffpauir. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Moss Bluff United Methodist Church. The Rev. Danny Gleason will officiate. Burial will be in Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is 6-10 p.m. today and 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
