Burial
Obituary: Reginald Rex White, Jr., passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the age of 76. Rex was born in Corpus Christi, TX. He lived in Odessa, TX before moving to Gretna, LA where he graduated from West Jefferson High School. He also graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. At Tulane, he played on the football team. He was president of Rex Painting, Inc., an offshore oil maintenance contractor, and later founded Santarita Information Services, L.C., a software development company. He was actively involved at Wisner Playground, where he coached youth football and baseball. He was passionate about his hobbies, which included running, photography, electronics, golf, cooking, barhopping, and baking. He was a proud supporter of all Tulane athletics, particularly baseball, and somehow never lost his love of Tulane football. He loved his family dearly and was proud of his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Reginald Rex White, Sr., and Willie Mae Hoffpauir White, and his sister, Rol Lyn White. He is survived by wife, LuAnn Ellis White and his children, Reginald Rex White III and Leslie White Straight; his grandchildren, Nicholas Lanier Ellis White, Maisie Joan Straight, and Eliza James Straight. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly White Traina. A private memorial service was held at Greenwood Funeral Home with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
