Death
Obituary: Cecil "Pete" Mitchell, 81, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007, in a local care facility. He was born May 29, 1925, in Edgerly to Leland Mitchell and Anna Bell Hoffpauir Mitchell. He was a lifelong resident of DeQuincy, and he was a Baptist. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Carroll Mitchell and wife Kathryn of Helotes, Texas, and David Neal Mitchell and wife Stacia of DeQuincy; two daughters, Nancy Willams and husband Tim of Beaumont, Texas, and Helen Arrington and husband Robert of LaPorte, Texas; one brother, Henry Mitchell of DeQuincy; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bronis Mitchell; a grandson, Jimmy Young; and two brothers, Lawrence and Rodney Mitchell. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Nugent will officiate. Interment will be in Perkins Cemetery. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Monday.
