Mary Alice Richey, age 74, of Alvin died Sunday, January 23, 2000 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster. Mrs. Richey was born to John and Antronet Gove Savell in Liverpool on December 4, 1925; she was a lifetime resident of Alvin.
Preceeding Mrs. Richey in death are her parents and one sister.
Survivors include children: Mary A. Burkhart and husband Donald of Alvin, Johnny Lew Richey and wife Lynn of Freeport, Laura Jean Richey of Alvin; Brother: Albert Savell and wife, Elwanda of Freeport; Sister-In-Law: Lupe Savell of Alvin; Grandchildren: Richey Shane Farrell and wife Norma, Chance Richey and wife, Serena, Kathy Burkhart, Debora Burkhart, Alisa Lee, all of Alvin. Great-Grandchildren: Esperanza Farrell and Richey Shane Farrell, II, also of Alvin.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2000 from 12-9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 27, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. from Oak Park Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Bruce Peterson officiating and interment followed at Confederate Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Joe Schibi, Tracey Savell, Koochie Savell, Bill Wilson, Ross Richey and Mark DeNero. Honorary Pallbearers: Neil Whitley, Carl Sonnen, PeeWee Brister and Lawrence Shueneman.
