Obituary: Crowley – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary Yvonne Hoffpauir announces her passing from this life on April 9, 2015 at the age 64. Mary was born in Crowley to Rufus and Lillia B. Hoffpauir on December 1, 1950. Mary enjoyed her earlier jobs as a baker and decorator in local bakeries around Crowley. She enjoyed creative cooking and sharing her talents with her many family members and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, making one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry and playing games. She was blessed to have been reunited with numerous old friends and made many news ones throughout her time at Southwinds Nursing Home. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is survived by two daughters, Glasarah (Raymond) Welch and Claudette (Michael) Welch of Crowley, La; three sons, William Earl Welch, Jr. of Crowley, La., Jeremy (Megan) Welch of St. Martinville, La. and Nathan Stopyra of Austin, TX; her parents, Rufus and Lillia B. Hoffpauir of Crowley; two sisters, Gloria (David) Taylor of Foley, AL, and Sarah (Phil) Martin of Crowley, La; two brothers, John (Barbara) Hoffpauir of Lafayette, La, and Russel (Debbie) Hoffpauir of Crowley, La; and 12 grandchildren and3 great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Crowley. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Broussard will be officiating for the services.
