Obituary: HAYES - Marie "Kacoon" Hoffpauir, 79, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008. She was born October 4, 1928, in Forked Island to Lozan Gaspard and Lucille Hargrave Gaspard. She loved taking care of her family and playing bingo and bourre. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert Hoffpauir, and one brother. She is survived by two sons, Ray Hoffpauir and wife Linda of Hayes and Albert "Poncho" Hoffpauir and wife Renell of Hayes; four daughters, JoAnn Abshire and husband Will of Lake Charles, Altha Hoffpauir Foreman and husband Glyn of Bell City, Brenda Arceneaux and husband Billy of Hayes, and June Zaunbrecher and husband Damian of Bell City; four brothers and four sisters; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; 20 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. March 5 in Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. The Rev. Albert Borel will officiate. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. today. (from L. C. American Press, March 4)Endnotes
