ANAHUAC, TEXAS - Peggy Joyce Breaux, 65, passed away at her home on Sunday. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady Light Catholic Church in Anahuac. Rev. Kevin Badeaux will officiate. Interment will follow at Anahuac Cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.
Peggy was born on January 28, 1939 in Crowley to her parents Adam Smith and Louise Hoffpauir. She was a high school graduate and attended two years of college. She married Hubert Breaux, Sr. on January 27, 1962 in Crowley. She had been a longtime resident of Anahuac where she worked as a personnel manager for Montgomery Ward. She had worked at the store at San Jacinto Mall in it's opening until it closed. She was a member of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Anahuac. In her spare time, Peggy loved to sew and could sew anything. She also enjoyed flowers and helping anyone she could. Her passion was her family and she loved to spend time with them. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jerry W. Smith and her sisters, Renda Myers and Patricia Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Hubert Breaux, Sr. of Anahuac; her son, Hubert Breaux, Jr. and wife Alice of Anahuac; her daughters, Patty Stephens and husband Brad of Mt. Belvieu and Penny Knichel and husband Josh of Pasadena; her sister-in-law Robin Smith Alicie of Winne and her grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Ashley, Dylan, Logan, Christopher, Jonathan, Britni, C.J. and Philip. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
