Lemuel Sturtevant LEAVITT

(3 Nov 1827 - 28 Oct 1916)

Most sources spell his middle name as Sturtevant, as opposed to Sturdevant. One source, Lemuel Stutevant Leavitt History by David Higbee states that at some point the 'r' was dropped from Sturtevant making the name 'Stutevant'.

This marriage date cannot be correct. Rebecca's first husband did not die until April 1879. I have not been able to find any record of her second marriage.

Note
This other note is correct, there is no record of the marriage of Rebecca and Lemuel. The only thing I have found is from the book The Herb Waite Family by Norman E. Waite. It states in there that " No record has been discovered to date as a proof indicating when the union actually happened. There are some indication the marriage took place in the latter part of 1881." Rebecca received assistance from the church up until that time, in November of 1881 the assistance stopped.
