Jakob Buller

(Jan 8, 1858 - )

Sometime after 1898 (probably in 1910), a land promoter named Marten s conned the Mennonites into giving up their farms in Colorado for fre e land in Bakersfield, California. When the Mennonites arrived in Bak ersfield, they were evicted because the land belonged to the Kern Coun ty Land Company. Also, per the Family Record Books of Alan Peters (Vo l III 220): He was the son of Peter Buller (who was, reportedly, the b rother of Susanna Buller, the mother of Rev. Johann Bese). The Hender son records say that he was born 15 Feb 1859. He migrated to the Unit ed States from Friedensdorf, Molotschna in 1877. In 1888 the family m oved to Colorado.
