"Thomas Gardner, great grandson o f Henry Gardner; grandso n of John Gardner, and son of Thomas Gardner , Sr. The firs t named Henry Gardner, who probably came from Europe , live d and died at Westchester, N. Y., where he is known to hav e be en as early as 1665. He was married to Elizabeth, daug hter of John Cr omwell, about 1664. John Gardner, eldest so n of Henry, was b Mar 25 , 1670, m Hannah (?), and probabl y died before his only son, Thomas , became of age. The lat ter, Thomas Gardner, b at Westchester, N. Y . about 1700 li ved and died there. He was married to Sarah, daughte r of W illiam and Sarah Smith. He made his will Apr 21, 1732, an d di ed in 1733. His children were - Thomas, Benjamin, Hann ah, Elizabeth , Sarah.
