Notes:Sadly, Thomas Duke's parents are NOTTaylor Duke (1780-1840) an d Dicey Jones (1790-1860).Taylor and Dicey were married in 1801, whe n she was 11, according to records that I can find. Thomas, as far a s I can find so far, was born in 1800 or 1801, the year Dicey was 10 o r 11, before her marriage or the year of her marriage.Also, Thomas wa s born in Georgia.
There is no record of either of them ever living in Georgia, as far a s I can tell. They were married in North Carolina, and all of their c hildren were born in NC. Supposedly, according to the book Henry Duke , Councilor, and also The Duke-Symes Family, their first child was Wil liam James Duke, born in 1803 in NC.
I am still searching for Thomas Duke's parents and trying to find ou t if they are connected to Henry Duke, Councilor.

In the book, Col. Henry Duke, Councilor, this Thomas Duke may be the T homas M. Duke on page 277, son of John Taylor Duke, Jr., son of John T aylor Duke and his wife Jane. This John Taylor Duke is brother to Joh n Duke and William Duke, sons of Capt. Henry Duke and Elizabeth Taylo r (p. 267, 269). This Capt. Henry Duke was the son of William Duke (t he brother of Col. Henry Duke, Councilor and son of Sir Edward Duke o f Suffolk, Co., England.)
