Nickname:<NICK> Squire Jim BIOGRAPHY: James lived in Secton 3 of J ennings Town ship and entered two claims for land in Section 4 of Jenn ings in 1837. James a nd Lydia lived there through at least 1850. Ja mes was sued for "basterdy claim s" twice. Once by a Nicey Stephens i n 1838, and another time by Jincey Stevens (his second wife). Lydia a nd James were divorced on 1 January 1856 in Owen Cou nty. On June 4 o f that same year, James married Jincey Stevens in Owen County. Afte r Jincey died, James again remarried to Mary (Palmer) Maze on 26 Jun e 188 1 in Owen County. James Beaman died on 6 April 1906 in Owen Coun ty, Indiana tw o weeks before his 94th birthday.
