Eben wa s employed with the Monon Railroad for 45 years. He retired in 1996 . He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lod ge in Quincy. Obituary : Reads in part - "Eben L. Dunkin, 78 years old, died Thursday morning , March 13, in the Gosport Nursing Home. Mr. Dunkin's home was at Qui ncy. He was employed with the Monon Railroad until his retirement i n 19 63, and he had been a car inspector at McDowell Yards. He wa s a member of the United Methodist Church at Cloverdale. He was born A ugust 12, 1901 at Herrodsb urg, Indiana, the son of George W. Dunkin.. .His wife, Mae Query Dunkin whom he married June 9, 1923 survives. H e was also survived by his daughter Mr. Nola J ane Cummings of Indiana polis; his sons Bud Dunkin of Indianapolis, and Larry Du nkin of Green wood; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren...Internment wi ll be in Combs Cemetery."
