John Parker Laughlin, 92, of Brookestone Retirement Center in Lexington, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. John was born on June 16, 1925 to the late Parker Holmes and Rachel Elizabeth Kersey Laughlin in Guilford County. He worked for many years at Snow Lumber Company where he retired. John was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Thomasville. Along with his mother and father, John was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Grant Laughlin in 2013; his sister, Cora Nell Bryan in 2016. Surviving are his sister, Virginia Parmely of Nashville, TN; his sister in law, Besty Laughlin of High Point; many nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his church family at Greenwood Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mitchel Hayworth officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mitchell’s Grove UMC Cemetery 3511 E Kivett Drive, High Point, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
