Wanda Margaret Piehler

(27 Dec 1923 - 24 Nov 2014)

Wanda Margaret Briles first opened her eyes on December 27, 1923 in Liberal, Kansas, greeting her parents, Walter and Pearl Piehler. She had 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Wanda grew up in this large family helping her mother in raising her siblings and running the home. She met the love of her life, Clellie Claude Briles, at the age of 18 and they were united in heart and marriage on November 18, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma. They began their life together in Oklahoma and journeyed to many locations before settling their family in Loveland in 1964. Wanda molded her life around her love for God, her husband, and her children, consistently doing for others with a servant heart. She was a wonderful teacher and caretaker to her grandchildren who are blessed with warm and comforting memories of their adventures together. Wanda enjoyed being a member of the family at Loveland Church of the Nazarene, attending services and building long-lasting relationships with several dear friends. A part of Wanda went missing on March 28, 1993 when her husband was taken to heaven, but she continued to value her new experiences in life with a growing independence and her zeal for adventure. She later made many friends and enjoyed her time at Berthoud Living Center, sharing her laugh and smile with all who had the pleasure of knowing her. In the early morning hours of November 24, 2014, Jesus met Wanda at her bedside and took her hand and guided her home where she was overjoyed to begin her eternal life with a long awaited reunion with her husband and her Savior. Those who remain witness to her beautiful and rich life are her son Claude Dale Briles of Golden, her son Clyde Noah Briles and his wife Diane of Loveland, and her daughter Judith Faye Swens and her husband John of Loveland. She also blessed several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren with her loving presence and gentle guidance. We will all be forever grateful for our time spent with her in this life, and will live in expectation of the reunion yet to come. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Loveland Church of the Nazarene with graveside services following at Loveland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80537. We continue to pray for encouragement and peace to the current and future families of Pathways, and recognize their staff for the angels they truly are.
