James H. Briles, 72, passed peacefully in the presence of family on Monday, April 2, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Corydon.
He was born in New Albany, IN on October 18, 1945, the son of Homer and Pauline Jackson Briles. He was a Supervisor at PSI Duke and a member of Parkway Baptist Church in New Albany. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the VFW Post 3281.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred Briles
He is survived by one son, Bradley Watkins (Teresa) of Georgetown, IN;
2 Daughters – Laura Briles of New Albany, IN and Shelley Haycraft (Alton) of Corydon, IN;
1 Brother – Paul Ray Briles (Sandy) of Georgetown, IN;
1 Sister – JoAnn Briles of New Albany, IN
2 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and several nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 5 at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown. Friends may call from 10 AM to 2 PM on Thursday prior to the service. Pastor Tim Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Wolfe Cemetery with graveside military rites.
