Benedict Joseph Barthle

BARTHLE, Benny, 79, of St. Joseph, Fla., passed away Monday at James Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa.
He was born April 16, 1930, in St. Joseph to John R. and Mary Blommel Barthle. He served in the U.S. Army. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; five brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his siblings, Andy (Pat) Barthle of St. Joseph; Ann (Bob) Legere of Fayetteville, Ga., and Liz (Tom) Guertin of Franklin, N.C.; his special hunting buddies and adopted sons, Jacob and Jason "Squirrel"; 140 nieces and nephews; 71 great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. A visitation will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, St. Joseph, with Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors. The family suggests contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund.
