Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose for Joan Dobbs, who died Saturday, October 11 at her home. Rev. Vincent Lieser will officiate. Internment will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Joan Dobbs was born on November 17, 1953, to Raymond and Marie (Kerfeld) Koch in Melrose. She was united in marriage to Donald Dobbs on July 29, 1988, in Melrose. Joan received her nursing degree from the Anoka Technical College and worked as a nurse at the VA Medical Center for 10 years, Melrose Area Hospital for 13 years and volunteered as an EMT with the Melrose Ambulance Corp. for 15 years. Joan enjoyed painting, ceramics and decorating for the holidays.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Dobbs of Melrose; son, Jamey Hollencamp of St. Cloud; daughters, MaryJo Clark of Eagle Bend and Jennifer Clark of Melrose; brother, Jerry (Sherri) Koch of Waite Park; and 2 grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marie (Kerfeld) Koch.
