Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Ellen E. Boeckermann, 84, who died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. The St. Rosa Christian Mothers and Senior Citizens will pray at 7:30 tonight followed by parish prayers at 8 at the funeral home in Melrose.
Ellen Boeckermann was born in Millwood Township, Stearns County, to Christ and Mary (VonBokern) Kerfeld. She married Edwin Boeckermann on May 12, 1941, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rosa. The couple farmed in Millwood Township until retiring and moving to St. Rosa in 1978. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the St. Rosa Senior Citizens and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her daughters and sons, Joan Oehrlein of New Brighton, Colleen Ebnet of Isanti, Judy Koopmeiners of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mary Jean Drake of Hugo, Larry of Shoreview, Ron of Arden Hills, Marvin of Roseville, Dewayne of Maple Grove, and Gerald of Freeport; sisters and brothers, Rosemary Zenner of Sartell, Lucille Sauer of Little Falls, Edwin of San Diego, Calif., and Virgil of Sauk Centre; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister and brothers, Verna Hoeschen, Norbert and Herbert; and two grandchildren.
