Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2004 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, for Ann C. Welle, age 89, of Paynesville, who died Tuesday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Fr. Richard Leisen will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Louis Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church. St. Louis Christian Women and St. Catherine's mission group will pray at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m.
Ann was born July 24, 1914 in St. Martin, MN to Hubert and Veronica (Heinen) Miller. She married Alvin H. Welle on June 25, 1940 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin. Ann and Al farmed in the Paynesville area for 32 years. In 1977 they retired to the city of Paynesville. After Al passed away in 1998, Ann became a resident of the Good Samaritan in Paynesville for four years and then became a resident of Assumption Home in Cold Spring. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Louis Christian Women and St. Catherine's Mission group.
Surviving Ann are her children Karren (Dennis) Okerstrom of Blaine, Joyce Arnold of St. Anthony, Judi Welle (Judy Rose) of Bowlus, Dale (Rosalyn) Welle of Paynesville, Debra (David) Douvier of Glenwood and Terri (Dan) Winter of Spring Hill, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and sisters Mary Flint of Paynesville and Helen Miller of Cold Spring.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Al, son Roger, grandson Daniel Winter and sister Susan Miller. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Daniel- Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville made the arrangements.
