Funeral services for Charles L. Welle age 66, of St. Joseph will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 17 at the Miller-Carlin Funeral Chapel in St. Cloud. Visitation will be after 10 AM on Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home. Charles died on Wednesday in Tyndall, South Dakota, while elk hunting with his son. Arrangements by the Miller-Carlin Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Charles Welle was born on January 31, 1939 in Holdingford, to Walter and Armella (Nathe) Welle. Charles married Leonette Fussy on April 24, 1965 in Bowlus, MN. Charles and Leonette had four children. He was a proud grandpa, a member of the St. Joseph Rod And Gun Club and member of The Knights of Columbus.
Charles Welle is survived by his wife of 40 years Leonette. Four children: Cheryl Ennen of Thousand Oaks, CA; Kathryn (Dean) Wattermann of Owatonna; Susan (Dean) Merdan of Avon; and Daniel (Lynn) Welle of Sartell; Four grandchildren: Jake, Austin, Dylan Welle and Elizabeth Merdan. Brothers and sisters: Annette Solors of Rogers, Kenneth Welle of Holdingford, Karen Westrom of Zimmerman, Dennis Welle of Albany, Jean Smoley of Grey Eagle and Joan Weglietner of Grey Eagle. Faithful hunting companion Sami.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Neil and infant sister Mary.
