Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of St. Bernard for Maurice D. Janski, 82, St. Paul, who died Sunday at New Harmony Nursing Home in St. Paul.Friends may call from 4 to 7 today at Bradshaw Funeral and Cremation Services, 1078 Rice Street @ Magnolia and one hour prior to services at the church in St. Paul.
Maurice was born to Frank and Mae (McNeal) Janski in Little Falls. He grew up in the St. Cloud area. He was a member of the Rice Street VFW Post 3877 and was a World War II veteran, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He was married for 56 years to Agnes Smekofske.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Arline Evans, Sharon Nelson, Gloria Schuweiler, Frank, Rodney, Allen, all of St. Paul, and David Somerset, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; two great grand-children; brothers Alphonse of Royalton and Lorenzo of Rice; and sisters Evelyn Pelarski of Long Prairie, Edna Ebnet of Aitkin, Ethel Feia and Effie Zabinski of St. Cloud, and Marge Waldock of Burnsville.He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Harry, Delmar, Norbert, Sister Jeanice, OSB, and Irene Kroll.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
