Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Luxemburg for Catherine M. Kiffmeyer, age 90, of Luxemburg who died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will take place in St. Wendelin's Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services at the Parish Hall in Luxemburg. St. Wendelin's Christian Women will pray at 6 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Catherine was born June 18, 1911, in Luxemburg, MN, to Joseph and Anna (Krier) Harren. She married Lawrence Kiffmeyer on May 23, 1933, at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Luxemburg. They farmed near Luxemburg until Lawrence died on October 15, 1950. She remained on the farm raising her family of 13 children. In the early 1970s she moved to La Paz Community Center. She became a resident of Sterling Park Health Care Center of Waite Park in 1996. She was a member of St. Wendelin's Catholic Church and Christian Women.
Surviving Catherine are her children, Joseph (Rose Mary), Andrew (Donna), Bernard (Josephine) all of Luxemburg, Jerome of Minneapolis, Brother Sylvester of the Crosier Seminary in Long Island City, NY, Arthur (Nancy) of Sauk Rapids, Dolores Phillipp of Eden Valley, Clarence (Judy) of Mayhew Lake, Wendelin (Elaine) of Clearwater, Loretta (Martin) Wieneke of Marty, Marcella (Ralph) Schleper of Elmdale and Margaret (Wilfred) Notsch of St. Joseph; 45 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and sister Cecelia Fruth of St. Cloud.
Preceding her in death is her husband, daughter, Rosemarie Hoefer; infant son Edward; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and brothers and sister Alphonse, Wendelin, Benedict, Anthony and Madalena Court.
