Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wed., June 7 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Melrose for LeRoy J. Wensman who died after a long battle with leukemia Sun. at the Melrose Area Hospital. Rev. Vince Lieser will officiate with private internment at St. Marys Cemetery. Friends may call Tues. from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wed. from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. The Melrose Veterans prayer service will be at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Tues. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice "Beaty" Wensman of Melrose; children, Jeff (Marie) Wensman, Rick (Karla) Wensman and Jason Wensman, all of Melrose; four grand-children; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Roering of Melrose, Adolph (Millie) Wensman of Melrose, Marcella (Al) Bueckers of Sauk Rapids, Veronica Smude, Don Wensman of Elmdale and Marion (Bernie) Brisk of Pierz.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Kolb) Wensman; brothers and sisters, Jerome and Herbie Wensman, Rose Mary Steffens, and Mildred Winkels.
