Alvin Andrew Mastley
(July 23, 1921 - April 11, 1999)
Alvin was a Carpenter and Decorator. He was also a private pilot formany years and often flew with brother-in-law Earl Weisner.
!Mastley Alvin A., age 77, of Osseo, died on April 11th, after a courageous battle with cancer. His dignity and sense of humor during this difficult time was an inspiration to his family. He was known and loved by all he met through his career as a painting and decorating contractor. Alvin's love of flying began in 1938 with his first solo flight. His experiences included crewing a B24 Bomber in WWII and decades of sport aviation thereafter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Rose; brother, Clarence; and sister, Barbara.
Survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Dale & wife Betty, Douglas & wife Julie, Linda Stein & husband Bob, Susan Miller & husband Jarrett, Gene & wife Michelle, Carol Breyer & husband Paul, and Diane Stein; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Victor & wife Wilma, Melbert & wife Betty, Earl & wife Sadie; sisters, Rita Nadeau & husband Roy, Betty Shore & husband
Harry, and Laverna VonEnde.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 14th, 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Osseo. Visitation Tuesday, April 13th from 4-8 PM with prayer service 7:30 PM at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St NE, in Osseo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society, 3316 West 66th St., Mpls. 55435. Alvin has successfully completed his last solo flight and he will be dearly missed.
