GEORGE VESSEY DIES SUDDENLY
Stricken while watching television in his home here, George WIlliam Vessey, Montesano resident since 1943, died suddenly Wednesday night. He was 65 years old.
He had worked at the Anderson & Middleton mill in Aberdeen until a week ago when he became ill. Death was ascribed to a heart attack.
Vessey was born in Eldridge, North Dakota, on August 27th 1891. For many years, prior to World War I, he was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad at Miles City, Montana. In 1921, he and his family went to
Minnesota but returned to Montana before coming west to Grays Harbor in 1942.
He lived about a year in Aberdeen, coming to Montesano in 1943. He was employed by Anderson Middleton during most of his residence in the county. He was a member of the Eagles in Miles City.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, at the family home, Simpson Avenue West; by four sons, Lynford, Central Park; Harthorne, Aberdeen; Robert, Miles City, and George Jr., Minneapolis; one daughter Mrs. Delores Adnerson, Minneapolis; three stepsons, Gerald Schaffer, Montesano; Jack Schaffer, Aberdeen and Bob Schaffer, Puyallup; and one step-daughter, Mrs. B. J. Sellers, Olympia.
There are also three brothers and five sisters who are: Rolly and Charles Vessey, both of Aberdeen; John Vesey of Hoquiam; Mrs. Ester Lampett, Hoquiam; Mrs. Irene Hall, Aberdeen; Mrs. Jessie Ness, Aberdeen; Mrs. Florence Wiesner, McCleary; and Mrs. Etta Howe, Grants Pass, Oregon.
He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, besudes various nieces and nephews.
