Services will be on Thursday, July 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church, St. Martin for Celestine "Sal" N. Garding who died Sunday, July 6, 2003 at his home. Rev. Julian Schmiesing, O.S.B. will officiate. Interment will be in St. Martin's Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Williams Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2003 after 9:00 a.m. at the church.
"Sal" was born on April 5, 1929 in St. Martin, MN to Mathias L. and Rose E. (Hoppe) Garding. He attended School District #125 in St. Martin. He was a Belvidere resident since 1966 and was employed as an assemblyman in the body shop at Chrysler Corp. in Belvidere, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and UAW Local 1268.
"Sal" is survived by his significant other, Evelyn Schultz, Belvidere, IL; brother, Marcellus Garding, Paynesville, MN; sisters, Dolores Zierden, Avon, MN; Julietta Garding, Eileen Ballman and Mary Ann Birr all of St. Cloud, MN.
"Sal" was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Veronica Stern, infant brothers, Severin and Ervin and an infant sister, Ledvina.
