Anna M. "Ann" Rademacher, 92, of Melrose, died peacefully, Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Melrose Area Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 28, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Elrosa, with Rev. Jeff Ethan and Rev. Ken Thielman officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
Anna Rademacher was born Sept. 22, 1912, in Freeport, Minn., to Henry and Anna (Woeste) Beste. She married Anton M. "Tony" Rademacher on May 9, 1933, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Freeport. They farmed near Elrosa until 1971 when they retired and moved to Elrosa. They then resided at Park View Center from 1991 until they moved to Pine Villa Care Center in 2003.
Ann was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Elrosa, Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Society. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, baking lemon pies, making popcorn balls and quilting. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Anton Rademacher of Melrose; children, Carol Peters of West St. Paul, Curtis Rademacher (Rita) of Dayton, Dale Rademacher (Jane) of Sauk Centre, Lowell Rademacher of Marshall, and Keith Rademacher (Judy) of Hutchinson; son-in-law, Harold Engel of Winsted; daughter-in-law, Barbara Rademacher of Sauk Centre; 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Liane Engel and Junior Rademacher; son-in-law, James "Jim" Peters; brothers and sisters, Leo, Edward, Otto, Henry, Oswald, and Jerome Beste, Mathilda Korf, Clara Beste, Sister Humitas Beste, OSF, Sophie Schulte, Dorothy Beste, Sister Alma Beste, OSF.
Casket bearers were David Peters, Mike, Wade, Christopher, Kent, Brian, and Gary Rademacher, and Pat Engel. Cross bearer was Alicia Rademacher. Scripture bearer was Lori L'Hommedieu. Honorary bearers were Christian Mothers.
