Lillian Morrissette
Lillian Rose Morrissette, age 84 of Kelso, Wash., passed away July 19, 2008, at the Hospice Care Center. Funeral mass were held Friday, July 25, 2008 at 4 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Kelso, Wash.
She was born May 17, 1924, in Greenwald to Mathias and Rose (Kulzer) Welle and graduated from Melrose High School in Minnesota in 1942. Lillian was a riveter, building airplanes in Chicago during World War II. She married Willis R. Morrissette May 14, 1946, in Greenwald and became a homemaker. They moved to the local area 61 years ago. Lillian worked in the Montgomery Wards Shoe Department for 17 years. She retired in 1981. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary for 61 years, where she participated in St. Theresa Circle and FISH. She enjoyed traveling, including trips abroad to Europe and the Holy Land, spending time with family and grandchildren and watching them play sports. Lillian was outgoing and loved to talk to people. She took pleasure in the simple things.
Lillian is survived by a son, Allen Morrissette and his wife, Nancy of Hood River, Ore., and their children, Trisha and Eric Walker, Tracy and Ritchie Morrissette and Tim Morrissette; son, Jerome Morrissette and his wife, Gayla of Olympia and their children, Eric and Alyssa Morrissette and Mandy Morrissette; son, Mark Morrissette and his wife, Letty of Pasco, Wash., and their children, Dennis, Andrew and Joseph Morrissette; daughter, Ann Krause, her husband, John of Longview and their children, Jared and Brandi Krause and Seth Krause; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Math Welle and Anthony Welle; six sisters, Vern Sorenson, Kathleen Welle, Patricia Spanier, Alice Moyer, Rosemary Meyer and Yvonne Fuchs; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and an infant son, Dennis J. Morrissette.
