Mass of Christian burial for Vera Harren age 85, Sauk Rapids, formerly of Saint Wendel, will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St.Columbkille Church in St. Wendel, with burial to follow in parish cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4:00-9:00 PM and one hour prior to the service Saturday morning at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Christian Mothers will pray at 7:30 followed by parish prayers at 8:00 PM at the church in St. Wendel. Arrangements are with Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Vera was born October 20, 1919 to Ida (Vos) and Thomas Mader in St Francis, MN. She married Bernard P. Harren on May 6, 1941 at St. Francis. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, St. Wendel, St Theresa Mission Group, the Christian Mothers, and a church choir member for many years. Vera was a homemaker, loved to sew quilts, work in her flower garden and play 500 in cards.
Vera is survived by her children Violet (Otto) Ritzer, St. Wendel; Alice (Ken) Gerads; Sartell; Rodney (Linda) Harren, Holdingford; Lee (Juletta) Harren, Orono, MN; Jean (Larry) Christiansen, Neola, IA; Bruce (Ardele) Harren, St. Wendel; brothers, Cyril Mader, St. Francis; Earl Mader, Grey Eagle; Donald Mader, Albany; 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Vera was preceeded in death by her husband in 1988.
