Mar 24, 1999 Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Melrose, for Christine Kortenbusch, 103, formerly of Meire Grove, who died Wednesday at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home, Albany. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Meire Grove. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church in Melrose.Arrangements were made by Patton-Schad Funeral Service, Melrose.
Christine Kortenbusch was born in New Munich to Henry and Elizabeth (Felderberg) Schaefer. She married Ted Kortenbusch in New Munich. The couple farmed near Meire Grove for 50 years and moved to Melrose in 1983. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. She was a former member of Meire Grove Christian Mothers and Poor Souls Society.
Survivors include her sons, Alcuin of Melrose, and Edward of Williston, N.D.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Feb. 22, 1959; son, Werner; and sisters and brothers, Mary Zierden, Elizabeth and Annie Hoppe, Herman, Henry, Paul, Leo and Ben.
