Joseph Herman Nathe

(April, 1953 - June, 2012)

DAYTON, Minn. -- Joe Nathe, who played for the Toledo Goaldiggers from 1975-81, died in Minnesota. Nathe helped the Goaldiggers win the Turner Cup, the International Hockey League championship, in 1978.

Nathe died Monday of cardiac amylodosis, a buildup of proteins in the heart tissue.

Joseph H. Nathe "Joe" age 59, of Elk River. Joe was the owner of Riverside Farms in Elk River and 101 Market in Otsego.

Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Veronica; and sister, Janet.

Survived by wife, Maude; sons, Eric, Bryan and Craig; grandson, Ryker; siblings, Ronald (Julie), Marilyn (Erwin) Specht, Arlene (Jim) Fligge, Rosie King, David, Al and Kenneth (Julie); nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass Friday 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 18380 Columbus St., Dayton. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church only. A life celebration will follow the Mass at Rockwood's Banquet Center, 9011 Quaday Ave NE, Otsego/Elk River. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred
