Elrosa - Cloudie Rieland, 82, died Saturday at Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria. Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev Sylvester Kleinschmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 pm Monday at Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. A Fransican wake service will be at 5 pm Monday at the funeral home in Elrosa followed by prayers by Elrosa Christian Mothers at 7 pm, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus at 8 and parish prayers at 8:30.
Cloudie Rieland was born in New Munich on Feb 3, 1906 to Joseph and Mary (Welle) Rieland. He married Zita Zierden on April 14, 1931 in New Munich and she died April 15, 1967. He married Agnes Tschumperlin on Dec 1, 1973 in Eden Valley. He farmed in the Elrosa area until retiring in 1968. He was a memeber of Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and Bishop Busch Council of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Aloys (Jeanette) Wander, Mrs.Henry (Anna Mae) Deters, and Mrs. Joe (Carol) Mohs, Elrosa; Mrs. Thomas (Lillian) Deters, St. paul; Sister Bernice Rieland, OSF, Parsons, TN; Mrs. Richard (Lenora) Schillawaert, Monticello; and Mrs. Kike (Mary) Clark, Ramsey; brother and sister, Boniface, St. Cloud; and Mrs. Sylvester (Hilda) Wieber, St. Cloud; 39 grandchildren; 21 grandchildren; four step-children; 15 step-grandchildren; and our step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Paul, Henry, Leo, Albin, Herman and Veronica. Pallbearers will be Joe, Mark and Gary Deters, Jim Mohs, Steve Wander and Keith Schillewaert.
