Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2003 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Alvis "Allie" Rausch age 97, who died Tuesday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) and from 9-10:00 a.m. Friday, at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Men's Society and the Cold Spring Lions will pray a rosary at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Allie was born in Rockville, MN to Nicholas and Susanna (Lutgen) Rausch. He married Louise "Mickey" Meinz on October 2, 1945 in Mary of Immaculate Conception Church, Rockville. Allie worked as an estimator at the Cold Spring Granite Company for 43 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Men's Society and a charter member of the Cold Spring Lions and the Cold Spring Area Maennerchor. Allie was an avid golfer and bowler. He loved hunting and fishing, and he sang with the Cold Spring Area Maennerchor for many years.
Survivors include his wife; children, Susan Jorgenson of Denver, CO, Tim of Salt Lake City, UT, Andy and John of Cold Spring; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elizabeth, Kate, Annie, Mary, Theresa and Phronie; brothers, John, Math, Neal, Joe and Dame; and son-in-law, John Jorgenson.
