Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2004 at St. Boniface Catholic Church for Victor Willenbring, age 80, who died Sunday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Catholic Aid Association will pray at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Victor was born in Richmond to Edward and Monica (Neussendorfer) Willenbring. He married Lydia Braegelmann on September 22, 1948 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Richmond, MN. Growing up, Victor was a 4-H member and loved showing prize winning beef cattle. He and Lydia farmed for 55 years. In 1956, they were named "Outstanding Young Farmers". Victor also served on many boards including the School District #15, Cold Spring Co-op Creamery, Farm Bureau, American Dairy Association, Pork Producers, Stearns County Soil & Water Conservation District and Trustee of St. Boniface Parish. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, St. Joseph's Society and the Catholic Aid Association. Victor loved traveling and meeting people.
Victor is survived by his wife, Lydia; children, Arlene (Bill) Monk, John (Jane), Russell (Trese), Michael A. (Annie), Mary (Kim) Weilage; brothers, Wilfred and Elmer; sister, Dolores Braegelmann and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials are preferred to the St. Boniface Parish Building Fund or a donation of a pint of blood to the Red Cross in Victor's name.
