Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre for Leo C. Nathe who died Thursday at St. Michael's Hospital, Sauk Centre. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. followed by St. Paul's Catholic Aid at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Leo Nathe was born in Rutland, ND to Gerhard and Anna (Unger) Nathe. He married Dorothy A. Younkin on April 14, 1942 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre. They lived and farmed in the Sauk Centre area from 1942 to 1973. He was employed by Home School for Girls in Sauk Centre from 1944 to 1954.
They moved to town in 1973 and he was employed by Jennie- O Foods in Melrose until 1983. Leo enjoyed gardening, fishing, blowing snow and making wood. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre, and St. Paul's Catholic Aid.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Nathe of Sauk Centre; children, Helen Fritzlar (Harold) of Belgrade, Ruth Rieland (Robert) of Sauk Centre, Donna Illies (Eugene) of Elrosa, James Nathe (Anne) of Osakis, Frank Nathe (Eileen) of Waite Park, Alfred Nathe (Clara) of Melrose, William Nathe (Georgine) of Freeport and Charles Nathe (Barb) of New Munich; 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant sons; brother, Arnold Nathe; and 2 grandchildren.
