Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Cloud for Earl F. Winter who died Wednesday at St. Benedict's Senior Community. Re. Allan Bjorklund will officiate. Interment will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2006 at Williams Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also after 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the church.

Earl was born to the late Otto and Louise (Schulte) Winter in Paynesville. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Betty Gardner on July 25, 1953 at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud. He was employed as a surveyor by the state of Minnesota and RCM. Earl enjoyed golf, bowling, softball, music and dancing.

Earl is survived by his wife, Betty; children and grandchildren: Laura (Tim) Bates of Minnetonka, Lucas and Anna; Douglas of Sartell, Steven and Courtney; Linda (Duane) Monson of New York Mills; Amy (Jeff) Sanders of Monroe, NC, Zeke and Jacob; sisters: Janice Kresik of Mill Creek, WA and Diane (Gordy) Bertram of Brainerd.

Earl was preceded in death by his brothers: Donald, Vernon, Kenneth and Clifford; and one sister, Madonna. Memorials are preferred.
