Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 27 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spring Hill for Lucille Athmann who died Friday, October 24 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church in Spring Hill. Christian Women will pray at 7 p.m. immediately following will be parish prayers on Sunday evening.
Lucille Athmann was born October 16, 1925 in Getty Township, Stearns County to Alois and Caroline (Illies) Nathe. On June 17, 1946 she married Wilfred Athmann at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. The couple lived and farmed in the Spring Hill area. Lucille was a homemaker all her life. In July of 2005 she moved to the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting, making rugs and her dog, Shadow. She enjoyed watching the MN Twins, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spring Hill and the Christian Women of Spring Hill.
Survivors include her children, Patrick (Beverly) Athmann of Hanover, James (Mona) Athmann of Eden Prairie, Brenda Athmann of Moundsview and Sandy (Dave) Hellickson of Brooten; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and sister, Theresa Krussel of Seattle, WA.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilfred Athmann on August 8, 1999; daughter, Marchell Ma Lieser on December 5, 2001; brothers and sisters, Raymond, Loretta Holewa, Bertha Schutta, Ralph, Walter and Tony.
