Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Little Falls, for Frances J. 'Dolly' Hoppe, 98, formerly of Little Falls, who died Monday at St. Mary's Villa.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shelley Funeral Chapel. Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella and 3rd Order of the Franciscans will pray the rosary at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel in Little Falls.
Frances Hoppe was born in Perham to Joseph L. and Margaret (Schmelz) Doll. She grew up in Perham and graduated from St. Raphael's School of Nursing, St. Cloud. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, Brainerd, and Melrose Hospital. She married Norbert B. Hoppe on July 25, 1929, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Melrose. The couple owned and operated the general store and post office in Ward Springs for 37 years, retiring in 1966. They then moved to Little Falls. She became a resident of St. Mary's Villa in 1992 and he moved to the Villa in 1994. He died Aug. 7, 1994. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Little Falls, Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, 3rd Order of the Franciscans, Little Falls Senior Citizens and National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 738 of Brainerd.
Survivors include daughter, Jan Fox of Little Falls; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by son, Kenneth J., 1993; infant son, Tom; and brothers and sisters, Edward, Peter, Antoinette Breneman and Catherine Burke.
