Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Marie T. Cordie, age 88, who died Thursday in the Koronis Manor, Paynesville, MN. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the church. The Christian Women and Golden Smiles Senior Citizens will pray at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Arrangements made with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.
Marie was born in Avon, MN to John and Anna (Euteneur) Douvier. She married Lawrence Buttweiler on January 28, 1935 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Avon, MN. He died September 11, 1961. Marie married Joe Cordie on June 25, 1982. She worked as a secretary at St. John's University for Br. Leonard in the Information Center and later for the Eden Valley/Watkins Elementary School. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish and the Christian Women.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; daughters, Donna (Peter) Ampe of New London, Deborah (Randall) Spotts of Minnetonka; 5 grandchildren, Peter, Suzanne, Patrick, Sara, Lisa; 5 step-children; 11 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; brothers, Joseph, Edward and Raymond Douvier; sisters, Catherine Buttweiler and Florence Boucher.
