Margaret Mary Ampe

(November 20, 1954 - June 13, 2002)

"Margaret Mary Ampe-Buttweiler, 47, of Paynesville, died at the Saint Cloud Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident."

Margaret was the oldest of five children born to Charles and Margaret (Orndorff) Ampe. "After graduating from Paynesville High School she went on to graduate from the College of Saint Benedict with a C.P.A. degree, from the University of Minnesota with a masters in physics, & the Northwestern College of Chiropractic with her doctorate. She was currently working for the Paynesville Postal Service.

On 3 July 1988, Margaret Mary married Brian Paul Buttweiler in Hennepin County, MN; she was age 33, he was 40. This was her first marriage, his second. Brian was the son of Eugene & Dolores M. (Bohlsen) Buttweiler. Margaret & Brian had one daughter (Margaret Catherine) who was born in 1989. They ultimately divorced two years later, in 1991. "She was a member of Saint Louis Catholic Church, Saint Louis Christian Women, and was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Paynesville Area Center, & Meals on Wheels.

"Margaret is survived by her daughter, Mari, of Paynesville; her parents, Charles and Margaret Ampe of Paynesville; brothers and sister, Charles (Karen) Ampe of Belgrade, Robert (Linda) Ampe of Savage, Catherine (Larry) Moyer of Watkins, David (Ardith) Ampe of Paynesville, and Ronald (Nancy) Ampe of Coon Rapids; and nieces & nephews."
