Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon for Kenneth J. Buttweiler, 64 of St. Anna who passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from Pulmonary Fibrosis at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Reverend Blane Wasnie, OSB will officiate. Private interment will take place at a later date. Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church in Avon with parish prayers at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Ken was born on December 19, 1946 in Albany, Minnesota to Eberhard and Catherine (Douvier) Buttweiler. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1966 until 1972. Ken married MaryAnn Kohorst on June 8, 1968 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Farming. He was employed by Welle’s Inc. in Albany. Ken and MaryAnn later owned and operated Ken’s Fleet and Welding Supply in Albany until he became a Realtor in 1986, retiring in 2008. He was a member of St. Benedict’s Parish, St. Cloud Board of Realtors, Sno-Joe’s Snowmobile Club, Two Rivers Lake Association, the Albany and St. Anna Sportsman Clubs. Ken enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, boating and hunting; His most recent retirement hobby was buying and selling on Craig’s List and E-bay. Ken especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren which made him feel like the richest man in the world.

Ken is survived by his wife, MaryAnn of St. Anna; children, Paul of Avon, John (Lisa) of Avon, Steve (Barb) of St. Anna, Sara (George) Bauer of Avon; 10.9 grandchildren; sisters, Doloris (Don) Lorsung of Alexandria and Dori (Abner) Groth of Leesburg, Florida; brother, Lloyd (Brenda) of Los Lunas, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Karl in 1970; his parents; and sister, Mary Lou Raden on July 7, 2010.
