Memorial services celebrating the life of David E. Koopmeiners, 53, of Andover will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. David passed away at his home on Thursday, May 6, 2010 with his wife at his side. Burial of cremated remains will be in St. Francis Xavier parish cemetery. Visitation will be between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
David was born on February 1, 1957 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Norbert and Ann (Poepping) Koopmeiners. David was a St. Cloud native who graduated from Cathedral High School in 1975 and he received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Cloud State University in 1982. Immediately following graduation from SCSU, he was employed by Norwest Bank (currently Wells Fargo) for 28 years as a Quality Assurance Analyst and an Information Systems Data Security Manager. He married Theresa M. Gill on February 22, 1998 in Miami, FL. David enjoyed fishing, gardening, spending time at the lake, Caribbean vacations, visiting Hawaii, watching football and baseball and spending time with his favorite cat "Brandy."
David is survived by his wife, Theresa of Andover; mother, Ann of Sartell; sisters, Arlene (Vern) Freichels of Sauk Centre; Lois (Gene) Lawson of Cold Spring; four step-children, Tammy Schleeter, Jesse Stephanie, Chuck and Justin Bryner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert in 1998; brother, LeRoy in 2005. Due to extreme allergic reactions, please do not send lilies, lilacs, daffodils or marigolds in any floral arrangements.
