Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Henry for Floribert C. "Flip" Jaeger, age 80 of Lake Henry who passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate. Burial with military honors will take place at the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church in Lake Henry. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Lake Henry Othmar Braun American Legion Post #612 service at 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Flip was born January 5, 1930 in Lake Henry, Minnesota to Nicholas and Beatrice (Hess) Jaeger. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany. Flip farmed with his brother near Lake Henry retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Margaret's Parish and the Lake Henry Othmar Braun American Legion Post #612 where he was past Commander, Adjutant, and the Drill Team Sergeant.
Flip lived and dreamed baseball. He played shortstop and pitcher for the Lake Henry Lakers. Flip played every Sunday and relived the game the rest of the week with whoever would listen. After he retired as a player he managed the team for several years and volunteered. Flip also was a golfer, fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his brother, James (Irene) of Lake Henry; sisters, Dorothy Loch of Belgrade and Gloria (Harold) Brick of Roseville; sister-in-law, Rita Jaeger of Lake Henry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Norman.
