Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport for Karl Heidgerken who died Tuesday, Feb. 2 at his home in St. Cloud. Entombment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Freeport.
Karl Peter Heidgerken was born April 25, 1964 in Melrose, Minnesota to Charles "Charlie" and Shirley (Rose) Heidgerken. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1982 and from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. On March 19, 1993 he was united in marriage to Pam Pierskalla in Kissimmee, Florida. Karl enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Karl adored his niece and nephew, Keshia and Kai Kettler.
Survivors include his parents, Charlie and Shirley Heidgerken of Freeport; sisters, Shelia (Maynard) Kettler of Freeport and Paula Heidgerken of St. Paul; brother, Kurt Heidgerken of Minneapolis; niece and nephew, Keshia and Kai Kettler of Freeport; former wife, Pam Pierskalla of St. Joseph; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Karl was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Marie Heidgerken, and Sylvester and Monica Rose.
