Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Nikki T. Hemmesch, age 29, of Woodland Park, CO, formerly of Paynesville, who passed away unexpectedly, with family at her side in Frankfurt, Germany on July 10, 2009. Entombment will take place in the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum in Paynesville. Relatives and friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, July 17 and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Nikki was born August 26, 1979 in Paynesville to Frank and Patricia (Pelzer) Hemmesch. After graduating from Paynesville High School in 1998 she graduated from St. Benedicts with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. She continued her education at Boise State where she rece ived her Masters Degree in Geology. She was nearing completion of her Doctorate in Geology at the School of Mines in Golden, CO. Nikkis passion for helping others was evident in her service as an Emergency Medical Technician in Woodland Park, CO, and doing what she loved which was teaching and sharing her excitement for Geology with friends and students.
Nikki is survived by her parents of Paynesville, sister Tricia (Andy) Suedbeck of Shakopee and brother Adam of Paynesville, maternal grandmother Mildred Pelzer of St. Cloud and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents Erwin and Aegidia Hemmesch and maternal grandfather Sylvester Pelzer. Memorials are preferred.
